Sunol Citizen's Advisory Council
The County of Alameda is the 17th largest county in the nation. In addition to 14 cities, the County has one of the largest unincorporated populations in the State. Over 140,000 residents live in unincorporated Alameda County, which includes rural, urban, and suburban communities. The Unincorporated communities span from the rural unincorporated areas in Livermore and East County to the urban unincorporated communities in Central County from San Lorenzo to Castro Valley.
As unincorporated communities the County is responsible for direct government in these areas. In District 2 the Sunol Citizen's Advisory Council (SCAC) was established to provide increased community involvement in decision making and governance.
