- 2010 Celebrity Cooking Class Series The American Heart Association is gearing up for their 2010 celebrity cooking classes and it is going to be an exciting year! Classes for both Pittsburg and Oakland will be announced at the end of July. Be sure to mark your calendars for September 25 and November 20!

- Healthy Planning Guide Developed by the Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative (BARHII), this guide links health risks such as unsafe streets or a lack of physical activity to aspects of the built environment, outlining ways to ensure that neighborhoods are designed to support health equity and community well-being.

- Exploring Social Determinants of Health Equity and Levels of Racism with Dr. Camara Jones In an effort to achieve social and health equity in Alameda County, the Alameda County Public Health Agency presented speaker, Dr. Camara Jones on Sept. 25th from 9:00-11:30am at Preservation Park in downtown Oakland. Her presentation brought residents, partners and staff together with Dr. Jones as a key step in collectively moving forward to eliminate racism and achieve health equity.
