The Director, Public Guardian-Conservator reports to the Assistant Agency Director of the Alameda County Social Services Agency. The Director, Public Guardian-Conservator is responsible for the administrative management and program direction for the County's Public Guardian-Conservator function and oversees an operating budget of approximately $3 Million and more than 60 employees.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership abilities, proven accomplishments and superior performance in a large, complex public and/or private service-oriented organization. Candidates must possess managerial expertise at a senior level and be able to successfully lead a division that provides an extensive array of human services. Effective fiscal management, organizational development, and human resources management skills are imperative.

Minimum requirements include the equivalent of five years full-time increasingly responsible managerial or administrative experience in a public or private conservatorship environment or other related field which must have included the equivalent of one year full-time experience managing a major staff function or program. A Master's Degree in Social Work or Public Administration may be substituted for three years of full-time professional level work.
