Conference Rooms
- Conference rooms may be reserved for use by judges, members of the bar, and pro per litigants for court-related activities as well as business people and business organizations for business-related activities. These may include interviews with clients, bar-related activities, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, training classes, business meetings and business negotiations. Rooms may be reserved for multiple days by business people and for the length of a trial so attorneys have space caddy-corner from the Rene C. Davidson Alameda County Courthouse to keep their files and computers and to confer. The Conference Rooms at the Hayward Branch Library may be reserved for multiple days by business people or by attorneys for the length of the trial so attorneys have space near the Hayward Hall of Justice to keep their files and computers and to confer. Conference rooms are not available for regularly scheduled classroom activities. The Law Library in Oakland is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 9:00 pm. The Law Library in Hayward is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Meeting rooms should be reserved through the Administrative Office in advance. Call (510) 272-6483 (Main Library in Oakland) or (510) 670-5230 (Branch Library in Hayward) for reservations.
- Full payment is required at time of checkout. Payment at Main in Oakland and at Branch in Hayward may be by Visa, MasterCard, cash or check. Returned checks are subject to a processing fee; refunds are subject to a $20.00 cancellation fee. To avoid a cancellation fee, the reservation must be cancelled 24 hours in advance.
- A wireless projector, computer, and screen may be rented for use in Conference 8 in Oakland for a non-refundable equipment fee of $30.00. Wi-Fi is available in the Library.
- There are no kitchen facilities available, but food and beverages are permitted in the meeting rooms. Limited catering services are available, please inquire when booking your room.
- Fees will be waived for pro-bono activities such as Volunteer Legal Services if the attorney is not being paid.
- Fees will be waived for use by sitting judges, public defenders, district attorneys, and county counsels acting in their official capacity.
