Home Together Investment Plan: Local Solutions to Homelessness

In May of 2020 Alameda County Supervisors, the Alameda County office of Homeless Care and Coordination and Homeless Service Providers EveryOne Home and St. Mary's Center hosted a series of Town Hall meetings to introduce the Home Together Investment Plan - a half-cent sales tax proposal for the November 2020 ballot to fund homeless housing and services, and a robust and efficient strategic response to homelessness across the county.

News & Announcements

  • 06/08/2020  Statement from Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan on Police Brutality  As an American citizen, I mourn the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Oscar Grant and the countless other innocent Black Americans that have been lost to police brutality. The nationwide flood of grief, pain, and anger we have witnessed in recent days is a response not only to these most recent tragedies but to a long history of systematic and institutionalized racism in the United States. I stand in full support of Alameda County's Black community in their fight to ensure that no more lives are lost to racial violence and police misconduct. As elected representatives of our County, it's important to remember that the public's trust must always be earned. With that in mind, we must demonstrate our commitment to rejecting systemic racism with every vote we take.
  • 08/05/2020  Alameda County to give stipends to some coronavirus victims  Alameda County will pay $1,250 to people diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home and self-isolate, if they meet certain qualifications. The pilot program, approved unanimously by county supervisors Tuesday, is intended to help curb the spread of the disease in Alameda County, which has seen its number of cases rise. The money would be paid to people diagnosed with COVID-19 who are not receiving unemployment benefits or paid sick leave.
