Mission Statement for the Committee
The Alameda-Taoyuan Sister County Association fosters and encourages mutual understanding and friendship through cultural, educational and business exchanges between people of Alameda County and the people of our Sister County Taoyuan County, Taiwan.
Roles and Responsibilities of Committee Members
- To attend and participate in the four regularly scheduled meetings as well as any special meetings and events of the Association.
- To attend and participate in at least one subcommittee of the Association.
- To assist in the development of annual Association work plan for the Association
- To seek volunteers and sponsors for cultural, educational, and business activities officially sponsored by the Association.
- To seek direct financial donations to the Association on an on-going basis.
Subcommittees and Subcommittee Purposes
Cultural Subcommittee: To identify and evaluate opportunities for cultural exchange (music, art, dance, and all forms of entertainment) between Alameda County and Taoyuan County and to recommend to the Association those cultural events and exchanges best promoted by the Association.
Educational Subcommittee: To identify and evaluate opportunities for educational exchange (all age groups, children through adults) between Alameda County and Taoyuan County and to recommend to the Association those educational opportunities best promoted by the Association.
Business Subcommittee: To identify business and trade opportunities between Alameda County and Taoyuan County and to recommend to the Association those business and trade opportunities most appropriately promoted by the Association.
Fundraising Subcommittee: To identify opportunities or methods to raise funds to support the cultural, educational, and business activities and exchanges of the Association and to take the lead in implementing those fundraising efforts when approved by the Association. All members of the Sister County Association, whether on this subcommittee or not, have fundraising responsibilities and will participate in the Association's efforts.
