Community Improvement Programs
ECD leads several community improvement programs in the unincorporated areas of Alameda County including Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, San Lorenzo, Sunol & Unincorporated East County, see below for more information:
Banners
Banner fabrication and installation services along commercial. Some banner designs are coordinated with the Alameda County Arts Commission to highlight local public artists.

Façade Improvement Program (FIP)
Businesses can receive up to a ($40,000) (with no cash match) or up to $80,000 with a 50% cash match. Exterior building improvements (may) include: signage, window and door systems, paint, lighting, landscaping and awnings.

Wayfinding
The Eden Area Signage Plan will install wayfinding and gateway signage along commercial corridors. Installation of signage will occur in stages as funds are identified.
