SiLin Huang was inducted into the Youth Category in 2014.
SiLin Huang was a student leader at San Leandro High School when a mysterious illness forced her to leave school. A two-year recovery meant SiLin had aged out of high school. But SiLin, who emigrated with her mother from China at age 8, never relinquished her dream of becoming a doctor. She completed two years of work in one year to earn her GED and high school diploma, and this fall will enter Columbia University.
