Amanda Berger was inducted into the Justice Category in 2018.
Amanda Berger is passionate about working with social justice organizations and has a special interest in criminal justice reform, including efforts to expand quality, educational opportunities for incarcerated people in California. She is the Program Director with the Insight Garden Program (IGP), an innovative eco-literacy, vocational and “inner gardening” program in eight prisons in California. She also manages outreach to Bay Area and Southern California employers and community organizations to provide ongoing support for IGP alumni post-release. Amanda is a certified professional coach and consultant who works with social change leaders and nonprofit organizations. She has an extensive background in progressive philanthropy and transformational leadership development through her work with the Funders Collaborative for Youth Organizing, the Women Donors’ Network and Leadership That Works. Amanda is on the board of UnCommon Law, an organization that provides representation for prisoners preparing for parole hearings in California.
