Roxana Perez was inducted into the Youth Category in 2018.
At just 17, Roxana Perez is already a community leader working to improve the quality of life for the disadvantaged, for her peers and for future generations in the City of Oakland. Roxana is Chair of the Oakland Youth Advisory Commission, providing recommendations to city leaders on important matters such as youth-police relations. She is an Oakland police explorer and one day wants to be a police chief. Roxana is also a leader at the East Oakland Youth Development Center, where she tutors youth and leads other enrichment activities. In addition, Roxana is a driving force in a program that delivers food, clothing and hygiene kits to homeless encampments across the city. A senior at Aspire Golden State Preparatory Academy in East Oakland, Roxana captains the girls’ varsity soccer team and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She plans to attend a 4-year university next year.
