Kimberly Larson was inducted into the Emerging Leader Category in 2019.
Kimberly is an Alameda County firefighter who volunteers all over the West Coast mentoring young women interested in careers in the fire service. Her commitment to supporting women in firefighting is reflected in the central role she played in the creation of the Norcal First Alarm Fire Camp, a 2-day annual camp that introduces high school-age girls from throughout Northern California to the rigors and rewards of being a firefighter. Kimberly initially faced doubts about this idea but, through determination and the credibility she has earned as a dedicated firefighter, she helped to convince firefighters from around the region to participate in the camp.
