Courtenay Carr Heuer was inducted into the Science-Tech-Engineering Category in 2024.
Inspired by her daughter's curiosity and creativity, and the lack of science-based learning for young girls, Courtenay Carr Heuer used her non-profit management skills to provide access to those services. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG), an organization serving elementary schools in Alameda and West Contra Costa Counties, dedicated to empowering young girls in STEM education. Courtenay's goal at SAfG is to promote inclusivity by giving all girls, especially girls of color, access to the high quality STEM education they deserve. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley and the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
