Bethany Zummo was inducted into the Sports & Athletics Category in 2024.
Bethany Zummo was born with Fibular Hemimelia and Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency, leading to her right foot being amputated at only 2 years old. She has overcome these congenital disorders to become a world-class sitting volleyball athlete and has won numerous world and local competitions. She is a coach for girls in the Alameda County cities of Dublin and Livermore. As a member of the United States Women's National Sitting Volleyball Team, Bethany was awarded the Gold Medal at both the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Paralympics and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics. She will also be representing the United States at the Paris Summer Paralympics in 2024.
