Research of Fictitious Business Names may be done online, in person, or by mail. The information at the Oakland office is updated daily. If you come in person and research the name yourself or if you do your research online, there is no fee.
By Mail If you request the Oakland office to research the name for you, there is a $25.00 research fee per name, which includes a five (5) year search. You may pay by check (personal, company, bank, or cashiers), money order or traveler's checks. Out of country payments must be made in U.S. dollars. Credit cards are not accepted for mail orders.
