Spojmie Nasiri is an immigration attorney in Pleasanton. She is a first-generation immigrant from Afghanistan who is acutely aware of the pain endured by immigrant children separated from their parents. Due to immigration laws, she was separated from her mother for years. At age five, Spojmie was sent to Germany and later to the United States along with her siblings to pursue their education. In addition to her private law practice, she conducts Know Your Rights presentations on legal issues affecting immigrants in local jails, mosques, churches and community centers. She also represents immigrants in federal court, including those impacted by the current travel ban.
