The County's Nutrition and Physical Activity Policy & Guidelines provide improved access to healthy nutrition options as well as opportunities to stay physically active.
Wellness
We seek to positively impact the health of those working in and visiting County buildings. The County's Worksite Wellness Policy is designed to provide County employees and residents with improved access to healthy nutrition options as well as opportunities to stay physically active. The policy integrates sustainability and waste reduction into its implementation. For example, when food is served at County events, not only should healthy food options be provided, but also steps should be taken to reduce waste.
Meetings and Events Where Food Is Served
The Worksite Wellness Policy requires that a healthful choice of refreshments consistent with U.S. Dietary Guidelines be offered at all County-sponsored functions at which meals or snacks are served. Steps should also be taken to reduce waste when refreshments are served, such as serving buffet-style and using reusable diningware.
